An alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Laud Kemetse, Chief Executive Officer of Laud K. Pharmacy, has funded the renovation of the Department of Pharmacology conference room at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS). His contribution of GHS 25,000 enabled the full refurbishment of the facility.
At a brief commissioning ceremony, the department expressed appreciation for the support. The Head of Department, Professor (Mrs.) Cynthia Amaning Dankwah, said the gesture reflects the strong bond the department continues to build with its former students.
“The project stands as a testament to the lasting relationships the department continues to build with its past students,” she said.
She noted that Dr. Kemetse offered to take up the renovation voluntarily and the project has been completed to a high standard.
Reflecting on his connection to the department, Dr. Kemetse said:
“The Department of Pharmacology has always felt like home. Supporting this renovation is my way of giving back to a place that shaped my journey. I hope this space inspires learning, collaboration and excellence for years to come.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting academic spaces that enhance teaching and professional development.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Samuel Asare-Nkansah, commended the initiative, describing it as a valuable example of alumni engagement.
